Letterkenny Rovers FC proudly received the prestigious FAI Club Mark Two Star Award, a testament to the club's excellence in governance, child welfare, strategic planning, sustainability, advanced coaching, and community engagement across various football formats. The award was officially presented at the AVIVA Stadium on October 24th, with Donagh McMorrow, the Clubmark Officer, accepting the honour on behalf of the club. On this special evening, 13 clubs from across Ireland were recognized, representing the top 2% of clubs nationwide operating at this exceptional level.

Recognition of Club Excellence

This award highlights Letterkenny Rovers FC's dedication to best practice in club governance, management, and administration, setting new standards off the field to build stronger clubs and a stronger game. The club met criteria in key areas:

  • Effective governance and administration
  • Comprehensive child welfare and safeguarding policies
  • Strategic planning and evidence of sustainability
  • Advanced club coaching structure
  • Promoting multiple football formats
  • Active engagement with FAI development programs.

Contribution of Volunteers and Leadership

The FAI Club Mark program is a testament to the essential role played by the club’s volunteers, committee members, and coaches, whose commitment ensures Letterkenny Rovers delivers on its vision to empower players and support the broader community.

Letterkenny Rovers FC is committed to furthering its contribution to football locally and nationally, serving as a model for effective club operations and community engagement.

July 2022

Trevor Scanlon and Shane Barr from the FAI came along to our UEFA Disney Playmakers on 25th July to officially present the club with their FAI Clubmark One Star Player Development Center Award. Donagh McMorrow the Clubmark Officer received the award on behalf of the club. A big thanks to all at the club and within the FAI who have helped us on the journey.

The Club is delighted to have received word from the FAI today that we have achieved the FAI ClubMark OneStar Player Development Centre Award.

It is great recognition for the hard work from all the Volunteers who give so much time and dedication to helping in the running of the club, driving to continuously improve our standards and becoming a Development Centre for both players and coaches alike.

The club were and honoured this evening as we were officially presented with our Club Mark award at Leckview Park by an FAI delegation led by Trevor Scanlon.

Donagh McMorrow who was the co-ordinator and driving force behind the application accepted the award on behalf of the club which is awarded for best practice in governance, management and administration of a football club.

A proud day for everyone at the club.
