In a dominant display, Letterkenny Rovers secured a strong 10-0 victory against Convoy Arsenal, marking a perfect start to the new year. The sunny but cool afternoon witnessed a clinical performance from Rovers.
The scoring spree began early, with Nathan Plumb finding the net just 2 minutes into the game, setting the tone for the day. Lee McMonagle showcased his prowess with several attempts, including a chested effort over the bar at the 6-minute mark.
Rovers continued their relentless pressure, with Joel Gorman's free kick leading to an own goal by Convoy at the 28-minute mark, making it 0-2. The first half concluded with Nathan Plumb securing a hat-trick, adding two more goals in the 38th and 46th minutes, leaving Rovers comfortably ahead 0-4 at halftime.
The second half saw Zach Gorman converting a penalty in the 54th minute, extending Rovers' lead to 0-5. Lee McMonagle added another goal in the 62th minute, and Rovers kept the momentum with goals from Zach Gorman, another from McMonagle and two late goals in succession from Adrian Delap.
The final whistle blew with Letterkenny Rovers completing a comprehensive victory.
