In a match that was clearly dominated by Letterkenny Rovers against a youthful Bonagee side, the final scoreline stood at an emphatic 5-1 victory for Rovers.
The action kicked off just 40 seconds into the game when a crucial interception in the middle of the pitch led to Gareth Temple delivering a sublime pass forward to Danny Hall, who wasted no time in slotting the ball into the net, giving Rovers an early lead.
Rovers had a chance to further the lead 4 minutes in, when a well-executed through ball found its way to Darragh Morrison, but he couldn't capitalize and hit it straight at the keeper.
Rovers continued to assert their dominance, and in the 13th minute, they were awarded a penalty for a handball incident. Darragh Morrison stepped up to take the penalty and made no mistake, extending Rovers' lead.
Danny Hall nearly added to Rovers' tally with a sensational strike from 30 yards out in the 22nd minute, but it was unlucky as it hit the crossbar.
Darragh Morrison, on the other hand, was clinical and added his second goal in the 34th minute, receiving the ball on the left and placing it past the goalkeeper.
Just before halftime, Rovers added insult to injury when Mohammed Touchami rose highest to meet a free-kick delivery into the box, heading it into the net, making it 4-0.
Bonagee had a limited impact on the first half, with their only notable attempt coming from Reuben Doherty's shot, which found the side net.
At halftime, the scoreline read 4-0 in favor of Letterkenny Rovers.
The second half began with more Rovers dominance, as Joel Gorman capitalized on an opportunity for chip the keeper from the center kick spot, leaving the Bonagee keeper with little chance as he found the back of the net.
In the 81st minute, Bonagee was awarded a penalty, and Reuben Doherty successfully converted it, giving the home team a consolation goal.
However, it was Rovers who continued to dictate the play throughout the match, ultimately securing a comfortable 5-1 victory.
