In a dominating performance, Letterkenny Rovers secured a decisive 9-3 victory against Gweedore United. Despite a chilly Saturday afternoon kickoff, Rovers displayed early control, with numerous chances that posed no significant threat to the Gweedore keeper.
Gweedore United surprised with an early goal in the 14th minute, but Letterkenny Rovers quickly responded. Notable plays included Jordan Nugent's interception at the 25th minute and a missed opportunity by Conor O’Donnell at the 29th minute. The momentum shifted as James ‘Barlow’ Gallagher struck a fine shot at the 32nd minute, followed by Adam Murphy's precise finish in the 41st minute.
The first half ended at 2-2, but Rovers dominated the second half. Jordan Nugent showcased his skills, contributing a goal from a corner at the 46th minute and setting up Adam Murphy's tap-in at the 54th minute. Conor O’Donnell added to the tally at the 57th minute, and Jordon Nugent's exceptional strike set up by Eugene Deery at the 64th minute highlighted Rovers' control.
Oran Winston's scored from header at the 73rd minute following a great cross from the left wing by Pavlo Shevaniuk and additional goals by Jordan Nugent (hat-trick), David Boakye giving Rovers a comfortable outing. Despite Gweedore scoring a penalty at the 86th minute, Letterkenny Rovers maintained their dominance, securing a well-deserved victory.
