A highly anticipated local derby in the Youth League at Dry Arch Park on a wet Wednesday night certainly delivered for those gathered.

Bonagee Utd dominated a first half were two goals from Lorcan Harvey had Bonagee ahead and in control. The torrential rain, which started just after kick off and didn’t relent for the whole game couldn’t dampen the quality of football on show.

Rovers came out of the blocks quickest in the second half and hit back early with goals from Oisin Duffy and Sam Harvey to level the scoreline.

The game then ebbed & flowed with both teams creating chances to grab the winner.
With 78 minutes gone, a break from the back by Bonagee down the right side, with some excellent play saw the ball cut back to the edge of the box and Caolan Fox struck the ball cleanly to give the Rovers keeper no chance. Both sides continued to create chances, but Bonagee Utd seen the game out, to keep their 100% record.

Both teams deserve great credit to have delivered such a high quality game, in the worst of weather conditions.
