Letterkenny Rovers produced a clinical display at the Leckview Park to claim a comprehensive win over Glencar Celtic in the Saturday League Division 2.
Rovers struck early when Adam Yisau broke down the right and crossed for Adejide Alawiye to head home from close range. The pair combined again soon after, Alawiye pouncing on a rebound to make it 2–0. Caolan Kelly then headed in from an Alex McDevitt corner to extend the lead before Jordan Nugent added a fourth, firing in after Keelan Dunleavy’s effort came off the bar.
Jason Doherty made it 5–0 before the break, latching onto a superb chip from Kelly to finish neatly. The second half continued in the same vein, with Alawiye completing his hat-trick after a Nugent assist and then adding a fourth with a clever backheel from Oisin McMenamin’s pass.
Glencar kept battling and were rewarded when Ricky Guntrip turned over possession midway and struck across goal to pull one back. However, Rovers had the last word as Nugent grabbed his second late on to seal an 8–1 victory.
