Week5 - 20th April 2025

U12 Girls

Letterkenny Rovers and Ballyraine played out a competitive 1-1 draw at the Aura in perfect conditions. Ballyraine took the lead through a superb free-kick by Cassie Diffley, despite Rovers dominating early play. Rovers responded strongly, creating several chances with impressive link-up play but couldn't find the net in the first half. The second half saw opportunities for both sides, with strong defensive efforts and excellent goalkeeping, especially from Kerry Wade. Rovers equalised through a brilliant move involving Ruby Peoples and Aoibhe Gibson, who finished with a great strike. Both teams pushed for a winner, but a draw was a fair result. Lydia McLaughlin earned special praise from the referee for her outstanding performance. Well done to both teams.

U12 Crusaders

With the U12 Crusaders having a week off from the league cup they were not about to rest on their laurels. And faced off against Drumoghil in a Friendly in the Moss this evening.

A well played game from start to finish with both teams creating ample opportunities to score.

Great team work and sportsmanship all game with goals from Tiarnan Connolly, Caleb Bomah and Anthony McGarrigle.

Player of the Match Award went to Natalia Zabillo for an outstanding performance in Defense.

And in a club first we had a Brother and Sister combination on the field with Lydia and Harry McLaughlin who both played a fantastic game.

Thanks to Kevin and team for hosting, great game of football.

U12 Rovers

Gweedore United 3 - 2 Letterkenny Rovers

It wasn't to be today for our U12s in the Premier cup final. After taking the lead with Alfie Gallagher early from a Corner, Gweedore United went 2-1 up after 25 mins. Femi Gallagher made it 2-2 just before the half time whistle.

After creating numerous chances in the 2nd half, and whilst pushing forward late on Gweedore's striker scored with five minutes to go to give the home team the win.

Although a solid display from Rovers lads, Femi Gallagher was standout player on the day.

U12 Athletic

Dunfanaghy Sharks 3 - 3 Letterkenny Athletic

Dunfanaghy Sharks edged past Letterkenny Athletic 16-15 on penalties after a dramatic 3-3 draw at Calum Friel Park.

Athletic led 3-1 in injury time thanks to goals from James McLaughlin, Kacper Niewiadomski, and Shay McLaughlin, but Dunfanaghy staged a late comeback with two quick goals, including a stoppage-time free kick. In an epic shootout, both sides displayed nerves of steel until Athletic’s 16th penalty struck the woodwork.

David Voronin was named Man of the Match.

U12 United

Letterkenny United faced a strong Ballyraine side this afternoon at the Aura, with the visitors ultimately claiming the win.

Despite a much-improved second-half showing and a well-taken goal by Victor Ogunade, Letterkenny couldn't quite close the gap.

Standout performances came from Evan Price and Noah Harris.

U14 Crusaders

Letterkenny Crusaders 3-0 Dunfanaghy Youths

Crusaders ended their league cup campaign in a very respectable third place. They dominated this game from start to finish with 2 goals from Jake and a great header from Fabian. Well done to all the boys... a rest next week before the league starts

U14 Rovers

U14 Letterkenny Rovers travelled to Keadue this morning and put in a strong performance with a win and clean sheet.
Mostafa Mostafa, Jack McLaughlin, Pedro Evanglista, Cayden Crossan and Goodluck Osagiede all got on the scoresheet.

U16 Rovers

Milford Utd 2 Letterkenny Rovers 1

Milford started the stronger and looked dangerous going forward however Rovers settled and there was little between the teams until a fine individual goal put Milford ahead 30 minutes in.

Rovers were stronger in the second half and equalised with 15 minutes left when Helden Carvalho scored at the back post from a Thalji Al Daher free kick. Rovers pushed for a winner and looked the more likely to score however with minutes left it was Milford who won it through another fine individual goal from Sean Baxter.

Paddy Doherty refereed the game well

Best for Rovers were Ronan Ward and James Toner

Youths

Ballyraine 1-0 Letterkenny Rovers

Ballyraine struck late on from a close range header to seal the win after a good end to end open game.
