Under 12 Champions League – Semi Final (2nd Leg)
Gweedore Utd 1 – 5 Letterkenny Rovers
(Rovers win 7–1 on aggregate)
After a strong performance in the first leg, Rovers went into the return match with a two-goal advantage — and carried the momentum straight into this game.
With the wind at their backs, the team started sharply and took the lead through a well-worked move. Patrick Lavin played a precise through ball to the left, where Zach McKinley controlled and finished smartly into the corner. 1–0 at the break.
The second half brought an early setback as Gweedore levelled directly from a long goal kick that caught the wind and bounced through. Rovers responded in style, getting the ball down to play their passing game — and it quickly paid off.
Strong play from Munachi set up Zach for his second goal, calmly finishing to restore the lead. Munachi then scored himself, showing great footwork to beat two defenders and make it 3–1.
Rovers took control of the tie, with Lucas Casburn and Martin Okedokun solid in defence against any long balls. The fourth came when Finn Dillon carried the ball from deep and delivered a superb cross that Zach volleyed home for his hat-trick.
The fifth goal rounded off the display — fine one-touch football between Femi Gallagher and Patrick Lavin released Finn again, who squared it neatly to Femi to finish and seal a terrific 5–1 win.
A superb all-round team performance from Rovers, with Player of the Match: Zach McKinley for a clinical hat-trick.
A champions league final awaits !
