It was Femi Gallagher who created the breakthrough for Rovers and went on to hold the lead winning 1 - 0. There were huge scenes of celebration around the venue when the final whistle was blown bringing to an end a very strong campaign this this team from the very start.

Our Under 11s had one game today which was the final of the Foyle Vase against Strabane Athletic.

DAY 4 - Updates

🏆Foyle cup day 4 update🏆

Its been another day of super football in what is the World Cup to these young lads.

Under 8s

The boys had 2 games today and got off to a good start beating Coleraine Peacocks 4 - 0. Goalscorers in that game were ⚽James McLaughlin ⚽️Brandon Ndlovu ⚽️Jayden Ward(pen) ⚽and Kacper Niewiadomski.

This meant they were now into the Quarter Finals and up against a tough Dungannon Utd side. Unfortunately it wasn't to be in this game and it ended 2 - 1 in favor of Dungannon.

Rovers goalscorer was ⚽Jayden Ward. Tomorrow the boys will continue to play out for final placement in the top 8.

Under 9s

U9 on Day 4 after winning both thier games, meaning they ow play for the top 4 places of the foyle cup

Nice picture of the U9s along with local friends from Illistrin

Unbelievable scenes at Broadbridge school grounds this morning where our Under 9s recorded two wins from two today to take them to the Foyle Cup Semi Final tomorrow morning.

Their first game saw the boys get to grips with an extremely tight and short pitch but despite this difficulty the boys stayed strong, defended well and took their chances. Finishing 3-1 with the only goal conceded so far this week and a goal from our own keeper ⚽Scott McLaughlin 👏 other goals from ⚽Charlie Lynch and ⚽Alfie Gallagher.

The Boys then moved onto the next game where they met Don Boscos with end to end action and a cracking free kick from Finn Dillon hitting the back of the net to take the boys to the semi finals.

Amazing performances all round and the boys will now finish in the Top 4.

Exciting day ahead tomorrow. Kick off 10:00am against Tummery Athletic in Templemore.

Under 11s

U11s that won both games on day four of the foyle cup

Letterkenny Rovers 1-0 East End

Rovers started off well and dominated this game. The breakthrough came in the first half after some great work by Jonathan Bonia and James Davidson and the ball fell to Blake Lynch who volleyed it home from outside the box. Rovers went in search for a second with some great efforts by Noah Carr, Filip Niewiadomska and James MC Cormick. The defence was as resolute as ever with another man of the match performance by Sam Tourish helped by Adam Travers, Fabian Frankowski and Conal Crawford all dealing with any potential danger. It was a great team effort by everyone involved.

Letterkenny Rovers 2-1 Lisburn Youths

In this Semi Final, Rovers again dominated and started off the better. It was James Davidson got our first due to some smart pressing and that bit of luck that we didn't see all week. Davidson closed down the centre half and the ball finished up in the net. Rovers went 2 up with that man Davidson again with a real net buster after great link up play by Adam Travers and Jonathan Bonia. Nathan Duffy and Jans Kinga were as dependable as ever in the goals. Fionn Dolan was always a danger with his skills and pace on the right flank. Zachariah Bytyqi dominated in the air while Tommy Yishu was solid in defence. Unfortunately we lost Emmanuel Amaloof to injury in the first game and a big loss since he was having an outstanding tournament. Hopefully the rest tonight will see him ready to go again tomorrows Foyle Vase final Vs Strabane Athletic Colts. KO at 10 am in Vale Centre.

DAY 3 - Updates

🏆Foyle cup day 3 update🏆

DAY 3 sees the group stages finalised for our teams. Both the U8s and U9s topped their groups. Teams now progress into the Cup playoffs and we wish them all the best for the remaining few days.

Under 8s

Under 8s top their group on Day 3 of foyle cup

Letterkenny Rovers 3 - 2 Clooney F.C

The Under 8s finished top of their group today having won all 5 of their games. Today, they had only one game and a tough game it turned out to be.

Rovers were just 1 - 0 up at half time thanks to ⚽James McLaughlin finding the net from another corner.

The Second half started more evenly, ⚽Zac Doherty  was awarded a free when brought down quite a bit outside the box. The young man stepped up and scored his second free kick of the tournament to put Rovers 2 up.

Clooney received 2 free kicks in quick succession which they scored directly from, levelling the game with just 5 minutes remaining.

The Rovers boys continued to work hard and in the final seconds Colton Gallagher broke away only to find ⚽Brandon Ndlovu who tucked it away for the winner and his 9th of the tournament with the last kick of the game.

Under 9s

Under 9s in action, topping their group on Day 3 of the Foyle Cup

Topping their group with six wins out of six games without conceding any goals. Incredible feat. 👏

Day 3 started out with a 3-0 win over Foyle Harps and then onto a 4-0 victory over NFC Kesh. The final battle, a Donegal Derby against Glenree United with boys knowing each other and Rovers boys feeling the effects of this being their third back to back game, it made for an action packed game, with both teams hoping to find the back of the net. It was Alfie Gallagher who eventually hitting it home for Rovers for a 1-0 win over a well organised Glenree United.

Other goals on the day from Mason Oliver, Femi Gallagher, Charlie Lynch and Shane O'Donnell.

Under 11s

U11s on Day 3 of the Foyle Cup

Letterkenny Rovers 0 - 2 Lisbellaw United

This game played in Limavady got off to a slow start with little between the sides. Rovers went down one nil in the first half from a corner and although the boys were well in the game in the second half, a converted penalty made it 2 - nil.

This was the final game is a toughly contested group with three teams having drawn 3 of their 5 games, leaving them to be separated by goal difference for 4th, 5th and 6th place. The boys will continue now to play out for places and are back in action tomorrow morning against East End FC.

DAY 2 - Updates

Under 8s

U8s on Day 2 of the Foyle Cup

Letterkenny Rovers 2015s 3-0 Tristar (Match 1)

The Boys saddened to have there buddy Shay McLaughlin out today through injury, started well against a good Tristar team in which the winner decided who would top the group for the day.
With Charlie O'Brien minding the goal, Rovers where very strong defensively yet again with help from Zac Doherty and Josh Duffy McLaughlin. With 7 minutes gone Brandon Ndlovu broke away and finished nicely to put Rovers 1 up. Not long after with a lot of pressure on the wing from Colton Gallagher Rovers were in again Brandon Ndlovu scored his second of the game to put Rovers 2 in front. Second half was tighter with both sides having chances. After a bit of midfield battling James McLaughlin found a bit of space and fired one home from range. Rovers continued strong and picked up the points to top the group on the day.

Letterkenny Rovers 2015s v Maiden City Colts (Match 2)

Rovers started the game a little quiet. Maiden city laid on the pressure but nothing goalkeeper Lewis McCauley and the defensive line of Josh Duffy McLaughlin and Zac Doherty couldn't handle with Jude Lynch and Jayden Ward putting in some good tackles the boys couldn't catch their break. Score was all level 0-0 at half-time. Second half kicked off with a totally different minded Rovers team and 2 minutes in Brandon Ndlovu fired home. Almost instantly from kick off Brandon Ndlovu scored again to make it 2. The boys getting into their stride made it 3 with a great strike from Kacper Niewiadomski who wasn't stopping there and went again with another fine strike to make it 4 goals to the good. Another 2 goals from Brandon Ndlovu and Kacper Niewiadomski both getting their hat-tricks with the game dwindling Rovers got a corner, whipped in by James McLaughlin Cian Dillion got on the end of it with a tidy volley from close range to make it 7. Great run and positive finish to the day for the boys.

We wish Shay a speedy recovery and hope he's back in action very soon

Under 9s

U9s on Day 2 of the Foyle Cup

Day 2 saw the Under 9s move to the top of their group with impressive wins in two great battles against Shankhill Juniors Colts and Tummery Athletic Colts this morning.

Goals from Alfie Gallagher, Femi Gallagher, Mason Oliver, Shane O' Donnell and another clean sheet for keeper Scott Mc Laughlin.

The boys are hoping to maintain their performance tomorrow where they will meet Foyle Harps, NFC Kesh and local club Glenree United. It's all to play for tomorrow, with some great competitive matches no doubt.

Best of luck boys.

Under 11s

U11 on Day 2 of the Foyle Cup

Letterkenny Rovers 1-1 Foyle Harps

All 16 Players played their part in this battle against a good technical Foyle Harps team. After conceding in the first half Rovers worked hard and it was a well deserved James Davidson goal that got the point. Unlucky not to have won the game but well done to all the lads involved.

Letterkenny Rovers 0-5 Lisburn

The highs and lows of football were never more obvious in football than they were today. Maybe the boys tired in their 4th game in 2 days against an excellent Lisburn team. But again a good effort from the boys and plenty of positives to be taken from today. One game tomorrow that will decide where, when and who we meet on Thursday.

Letterkenny Rovers 1-1 Top of the Hill Colts

Rovers U-11 got off to a solid start today with a one all draw. Rovers led most of the game with our goal coming from a super low drive free by James Mc Cormick. Unlucky not to get the win, with Top of the Hill equaliser in the last minute of the game from a free.

Letterkenny Rovers 1-1 Enniskillen

Rovers got off to the worst start possible conceding in the first minute but fought back well against a physical Enniskillen side. The boys stood up to the test and another wonderful left peg goal (Top Bins) by James Mc Cormick levelled the game. We pushed on searching for a winner but it wasn't to be. Great squad performance by everyone and looking forward to tomorrow with games against Foyle Harps and Lisburn Youths. ⚽
