Garda Vetting

mandatory to renew every 3 years

When completing your Garda Vetting you will need to download the Garda Vetting ID Validation form from the FAI website.

Print the form, fill in your details and get an authorised person such as club secretary to sign it.

Scan the form, and upload it along with the ID documents required on the Garda Vetting checklist.

You should receive an email from the National Vetting Bureau within a couple of days. When received, complete the second part the application online. (There is a time limit of 1 month to do this).

Note: After the Garda Vetting form is submitted you will be provided a reference number to be able to check the status of the vetting with the Garda Vetting Bureau. It can take a few weeks before this completes and the disclosure returned to the FAI.

The FAI should email you normally within a week with the details and update your record on the COMET system to PASSED.

If you do not receive any word within 3 wees please ask FAI Children Welfare Office for help in checking.

If there are any errors with the forms, the forms will be emailed back to the applicant.

Once received please send a copy of the letter to the Club Child Welfare officer for record.
