Letterkenny Rovers 1–5 Keadue Rovers

Keadue Rovers produced a clinical second-half display to claim a 5–1victory over Letterkenny Rovers at Leckview Park in the Brian McCormick Sports Premier Division. Ethan McCaffrey and substitute Aaron Neeley scored twice apiece, with Oran Fallon also on target for the visitors.

Played in good conditions, the game began with a largely midfield contest and few clear chances in the opening 20 minutes. Letterkenny came agonisingly close to opening the scoring when Fouad Bashar’s powerful strike from around 40 yards crashed off the crossbar and struck Keadue goalkeeper Caelan Bonner but somehow stayed out. Igor Arriel then fired over following a corner.

Keadue broke the deadlock in the 34th minute when McCaffrey advanced from the left on a counterattack and finished well. Letterkenny almost responded immediately, but Cormac Dunleavy’s effort struck the upright after he was played through one-on-one with Bonner. Davin Blake saved from Peter McGee at the other end, while Dunleavy and Jason Doherty both went close before the break.

Leading 1–0 at half-time, Keadue extended their advantage eight minutes after the restart when Fallon worked his way along the end line from the right and scored at the near post. McCaffrey added his second in the 62nd minute, converting a cross from the left at close range.

Letterkenny pulled one back in the 68th minute when sustained pressure forced a defensive error, with a back pass ending up in the Keadue net. However, the visitors restored their three-goal cushion through Neeley in the 77th minute, shortly after Blake had denied the substitute with an excellent one-on-one save.

Doherty headed over from an Ibrahim Olayode corner as Letterkenny continued to seek a response, while Fallon struck the post for Keadue. The visitors completed the scoring late on when Neeley broke clear, rounded Blake and finished for his second of the afternoon.
