Letterkenny Rovers and Donegal Town shared the points after a tightly contested Premier Division match at Leckview Park on Sunday, 27 September. Conditions were fairly good, with a slight breeze.
Donegal made the brighter start, but Rovers also created openings. Kevin McGrath played Cormac Dunleavy through, only for the forward to be unable to reach the ball, while Aiden Boal delivered a dangerous cross from the right. At the other end, Davin Blake saved an effort from Declan Duignan.
The visitors went ahead in the 28th minute when Rovers lost possession in midfield and Kevin Muldoon finished the resulting attack. Donegal began the second half strongly, but Rovers worked their way back into the game and came close on 64 minutes when Dunleavy’s shot struck the crossbar.
Rovers equalised in the 76th minute after an attack down the left. Jason Doherty found Pavlo Shevaniuk, who hammered the ball into the net. Injury-enforced changes brought fresh energy to Rovers, and substitutes Sheldon Nyoni and Jack Duff combined for a late chance, with Duff shooting wide.
Both sides had opportunities in the closing stages, but neither could find a winner in a closely fought 1–1 draw.
