U16 Rovers

Lagan Harps FC 1 - 3 Letterkenny Rovers

Rovers booked their place in the Quarter finals of the Cup with a strong performance against a spirited Lagan side at a sunny Orchard Park. Rovers started well and Akai Alleyne smashed the ball home 5 minutes in when it broke to him from a corner. Lagan equalised minutes later when Rovers failed to clear a blocked shot and the Lagan. Striker slipped the ball past the advancing James Toner Rovers raised the tempo and were playing some great football with Ronan Ward and Marcin. Pirch dominating midfield. Rovers created numerous chances before Thalji eventually got the breakthrough with a fine strike after linking well with Pirch. Thalji won a penalty just before halftime later but his effort was well saved by the Lagan Keeper. 

Rovers continued to press in the second half but Lagan looked dangerous on the break. Colm Og Breathnach hit a post and Thalji smashed over with the goal at his mercy before the Lagan Keeper made an excellent save from a Etinosa Adun strike but Rovers couldn't find the all important third goal. Lagan had chances of their own and Toner had to be at his best to keep them at bay. Rovers finally got there third goal in the last minute when Thalji turned well in the box and fired home to cement the win. Player of the match Marcin Pirch

U16 Crusaders

Letterkenny Crusaders 4 – 1 Bonagee Arcade
Another great win tonight out at Dry Arch Park for the boys. We went in at half-time 2–0 up with goals from Mathew J and Blu Jay.

In the second half we started well and got a third goal from Donald Adamu, but Bonagee pulled one back midway through.

With 10 minutes to go, Josh McHugh added our fourth to seal the win.

Final score: 4–1.
Into the semi-final now where we’ll face Milford⚽️


Letterkenny Crusaders 0 – 2 Milford United Blues

The Crusaders started brightly, creating several chances in the opening 20 minutes, but it was Milford who struck first with a well-taken goal against the run of play. Just before half-time, the visitors doubled their lead from the penalty spot to go into the break 2–0 up.

In the second half, the Crusaders continued to press and carved out more opportunities, but despite their efforts they couldn’t find the breakthrough. The match ended 2–0 in favour of Milford United Blues.

U14 United

Letterkenny United faced Illistrin Allstars at the Aura today in the U14 Division 2. Illistrin began brightly, putting the Rovers’ defence under pressure, but goalkeeper Ronan Fallon produced two fine early saves to keep the score level.

United then took the lead through David Muller, who struck from the edge of the box. Their advantage doubled shortly after when Jonathan Niju’s cross was deflected into the net by an Illistrin defender. Jesse George Gbagi made it three, winning a penalty after being brought down in the box and calmly converting from the spot.

The fourth and final goal came courtesy of Thomas Muller, capitalising on a defensive mix-up to finish well. Muller was also named Player of the Match for his outstanding performance on the left wing.

U14 Rovers

Letterkenny Rovers 2–3 Lagan Harps
It was a real tale of two halves at Leckview today as Letterkenny Rovers faced Lagan Harps in the U14 Premier Division.

Rovers started the brighter of the two sides, pressing high and forcing mistakes at the back. That early pressure paid off when Cayden Crossan pounced on a loose ball after the Harps goalkeeper was caught out, coolly slotting home to give the home side a 1–0 lead.

Rovers continued to dominate, creating numerous chances and playing some excellent football. Their efforts were rewarded shortly before the break when Filip Niewiadomski struck brilliantly from the edge of the box to double the advantage, giving Rovers a deserved 2–0 lead at half time.

The second half, however, belonged to Lagan Harps. They came out firing and pulled a goal back 10 minutes after the restart, before quickly finding a second just two minutes later to level the game at 2–2.

Both sides pushed hard in search of a winner, but it was Lagan who completed the turnaround nine minutes from time, netting what proved to be the decisive goal to seal a 3–2 victory.

Despite the result, Filip Niewiadomski was named Player of the Match for his outstanding performance and crucial first-half strike.

U12 Athletic

Letterkenny Athletic - Division 2A Champions 🏆

Letterkenny Athletic secured the Division 2A League title in style, overcoming a determined Swilly Rovers side at Swilly Park in near-perfect conditions.

Athletic started brightly, with Shay McLaughlin having several early chances before finally opening the scoring, finishing off a fine passing move. The visitors continued to press, and James McLaughlin doubled their lead midway through the half with a clinical finish.

The pressure didn’t relent. Josh Duffy McLaughlin was brought down in the box, and Shay calmly converted the resulting penalty. Kacper Niewiadomski added a well-deserved goal before Josh got on the scoresheet just minutes later. Shay then completed his hat-trick right before the break after a sweeping move involving six Athletic players.

After the restart, James grabbed his second of the game with a well-placed header, before Shay’s perfectly struck free-kick.

Swilly, to their credit, kept battling and were rewarded midway through the half with a well-taken goal. However, the final word belonged to debutant Ryan McLaughlin, who marked his first league appearance with a stunning strike from the edge of the box.

It was another superb team performance, with every player playing their part. Shay McLaughlin and Josh Duffy McLaughlin shone in attack, but player-of-the-match honours went to James McLaughlin for his commanding display in midfield.

U12 United

Letterkenny United 1-2 Glen Rovers
Letterkenny saw their league challenge disappear when the welcomed Glen Rovers to the Aura this afternoon, losing 2-1 to the visitors. Letterkenny could have taken the lead on 7 mins but failed to convert from the penalty spot. Glen Rovers made no mistake when they converted their spot kick just before half time. Glen Rovers came out stronger in the second half and scored soon after the restart. Despite Evan Price pulling one back from the spot late on, the home side suffered their 2nd defeat in a row. No excuses, beaten by a better team on the day who wanted it more. Well done to Glen Rovers

U12 Crusaders

A dominant display from the U12 Crusaders this morning at the Aura, with the team securing a convincing win in ideal conditions.

The Crusaders started brightly, with Josh Muller opening the scoring in the early minutes. That early goal set the tone for a confident performance, as the team took control and maintained momentum throughout the match.

There was excellent teamwork on show, with quick one-two passing, strong communication, and smooth transitions between attack and defence. The players worked well together to keep possession and dictate the pace of the game.

Folarin Abolaji and Anthony McGarrigle both scored hat-tricks, while Josh Muller, Noah Carr, Tiarnan Connolly, and Caleb Bomah each added to the tally with well-taken goals.

Gweedore showed great determination and sportsmanship, battling to the final whistle and pulling a goal back with a well-placed free kick.

BLITZES

Our U9s welcomed Cappry Rovers for a friendly, with some fantastic football on display.

U8 Girls

The U8 blitz at Illistrin was filled with fun, sunshine, and football. Rovers fielded three fantastic teams—Rovers, Crusaders, and United—and every girl gave their best. Across four games each, they displayed impressive teamwork, effort, and focus, even in warm conditions. Scoring over 30 goals and improving weekly, the girls showcased excellent communication and defensive skills. A big thank you to Tommy and the team for an unforgettable day!

 

U10s

A great afternoon of football at Orchard park yesterdy for our U10s as they attended a blitz as part of the small sided games programme hosted by Lagan FC. Glen Rovers were also in attendance and there was some great football played by all the teams in the Sunshine. Thanks to Damien at Lagan for looking after us so well and to Tony McNamee for organising . ⚽
