Letterkenny Rovers 3 - 2 Glenree United
Letterkenny Rovers secured all three points on a warm evening in Leckview against Glenree.
Rovers started brightly, with Aisling McGinley opening the scoring after eleven minutes when she finished from a Hanna Stolarczyk cross. McGinley added her second shortly after, following a well-timed pass from Aoise Diver. She completed her hat-trick ten minutes before the interval with a fine strike from distance. Glenree responded two minutes later, with Tara Coyle finishing from close range to reduce the deficit.
In the second half, Glenree pushed forward in search of goals, but goalkeeper Lily Gallagher was alert throughout, sweeping up well and dealing with danger. Both sides created chances in an open contest, with Laila Devenny and Aoise Diver going close for Rovers, while Emily Boyce and Tara Coyle threatened for Glenree. Coyle added her second of the evening to bring Glenree within one goal.
Glenree had plenty of possession in the closing stages, but strong defending from Faye Casburn and Ella Doherty helped Rovers see out the game and secure the win. Aisling McGinley and Lily Gallagher stood out for the home side, while Tara Coyle and Emily Boyce impressed for Glenree.
U12 Wanderers
Letterkenny Wanderers secured all three points with a win over Milford Colts this evening at the Aura Back Pitch.
Goals from Dáithí Devenney, Oscar Brzdak, Peter Coyle Kelly, Shaun Crossan, and Scott Margey helped seal the result. The team now heads into a league break as they prepare for Foyle Cup week.
