Memorial Match in honour of Fionn McLaughlin

On August 25th 2025 at Leckview Park, our community came together to honour the memory of Fionn McLaughlin with a special memorial match between Letterkenny Rovers Select and Coláiste Ailigh.

A huge crowd gathered to support Fionn’s family on what would have been his 18th birthday, and to celebrate his life through the game he loved most – football.

In a beautiful and poignant moment, a rainbow appeared over Leckview Park, as if nature itself joined in the tribute. 🌈

The evening ended in the most fitting way possible, with Fionn’s younger cousin Shay scoring the winning penalty – a moment of joy and pride that Fionn would have cherished.

We are deeply grateful for the generous donations made on the night in aid of The Samaritans and The Divine Mercy Centre, Letterkenny.

A heartfelt thank you to all the players, coaches, family, friends, and supporters who made this such a meaningful tribute to Fionn and his love of the game.

Special thanks also to the Station House Hotel, Letterkenny, for providing sandwiches for the crowd, and to Chantelle from Century Complex, Letterkenny, for kindly supplying food for the players afterwards.
