Letterkenny Rovers were pushed all the way before securing a hard-earned 3–2 victory over Swilly Rovers in an entertaining Donegal Women’s League encounter.

Swilly made the brighter start and were rewarded after 12 minutes when Clodagh Neely finished well at the back post following a precise cross from Finlay Doherty. The visitors continued to threaten, and goalkeeper Keeley Boyle was called into action with two excellent saves to deny Ella McCarron and preserve their lead.

Letterkenny responded positively and found an equaliser just before the break, as Aisling McGinley volleyed home from an Aisling Mugan corner to leave the sides level at halftime.

The second half maintained a lively tempo, with Swilly regaining the advantage through Orla Connolly. Letterkenny found it difficult to break down a well-organised defence, where Grainne Sweeney stood out with a composed performance.

With ten minutes remaining, Letterkenny drew level once more when Amy Moore reacted quickest inside the box to finish from another McGinley delivery. Swilly almost responded immediately, but Megan McGinley produced a superb save to deny Caitlin Doherty.

Both sides pushed for a winner, and after Aoiblinn McLaughlin saw a back-post effort drift just over, the decisive moment arrived in the closing stages. Amy Moore drove forward before picking out Aisling McGinley, who finished confidently to secure all three points for the hosts.

Standout performances came from Keeley Boyle and Grainne Sweeney for Swilly Rovers, while Amy Moore, Lucy Canning, and Leanne Gordon impressed for Letterkenny Rovers.
