Letterkenny Crusaders clinched the U12 First Division League Cup title following an excellent and closely contested final. Both sides produced a high standard of football, with very little separating them throughout.

Defences were solid and both goalkeepers delivered outstanding performances, keeping the game scoreless at full-time and again after extra time. The match was ultimately decided by penalties, where Crusaders edged the shootout to lift the trophy.

Well done to both teams for a fantastic and sporting final.

U14 Premier League Cup

Rovers 3 – 3 Gweedore Utd

Gweedore Utd advanced to the final of the U14 Premier League Cup after a penalty shootout victory following a closely contested encounter.

Rovers made the breakthrough after 12 minutes when Lucas Casburn finished well at the back post. Gweedore responded shortly afterwards, equalising from a corner to leave the sides level at half-time.

Rovers regained the lead on 51 minutes as James Davidson headed home from an excellent James McCormick cross. Gweedore responded strongly, scoring twice in quick succession to move 3-2 ahead.

Rovers showed great character and were rewarded when James Davidson grabbed his second of the game, powering home a header from a James McCormick corner to make it 3-3.

Both teams created chances to win the game, and a draw was a fair reflection of the contest over normal time. Rovers can now look ahead to the league campaign with plenty of positives to take from their League Cup run.

After the match, the squad presented coach Michael Lynch with a jersey to mark his special milestone.

DWL U14 Girls: Letterkenny Rovers 6–2 Convoy Arsenal

Letterkenny Rovers delivered a strong performance to secure a 6–2 victory over Convoy Arsenal in an entertaining DWL U14 Girls clash.

Rovers made a bright start and took the lead after just 9 minutes when Ena Culi finished well following an excellent cross from Laila Devenney. The advantage was doubled soon after, with Faith Adun converting from an Aoise Divers corner.

Convoy responded early in the second half with a goal from Amelia Kelly, who reacted quickest after a fine save from Rovers goalkeeper Mary to give her side hope of a comeback.

However, Rovers regained control as Aoise Divers found the net with a well-taken free kick. Convoy replied through Eleanor Tait, who produced a superb left-footed strike from outside the box.

In the final 10 minutes, Rovers pulled away decisively. Goals from Aoibhe Gibbons, Cadhla McVeigh, and Lana Culi sealed an impressive win.

Standout performers for Rovers included Aoibhe Gibbons and Natalie Zabijlo, while Ruby Witherow and Molly Bates impressed for Convoy Arsenal.

U12 Athletic

Letterkenny Athletic Rovers bowed out of the League Cup semi-final after a hard-fought encounter against Milford on the Aura back pitch.

Rovers started brightly and pinned Milford back in their own half early on. Ryan McLaughlin opened the scoring with a brilliant individual goal, beating two players before finishing superbly. Rovers controlled much of the first half and deserved their lead at the break.

The second half began as the first ended, with Ivan Shula and Fionn Maguire causing constant problems down the wings. James Gallagher doubled the lead five minutes after the restart with a top-class goal, gliding past three defenders before rounding the goalkeeper and finishing calmly.

Milford showed great character to respond, scoring three goals in a ten-minute spell to take the lead.

To their credit, Rovers kept pushing forward in search of an equaliser right until the final whistle, but Milford held on to book their place in the final.

A very competitive game throughout, and we wish Milford the very best of luck in the final. A tough night for Rovers, but valuable lessons learned.

Notable performances came from Aaron Sabanda, Ivan Shula, Harry McLaughlin and James Gallagher, while Ryan McLaughlin deservedly took Player of the Match honours.

U10 Girls

U10 Girls enjoyed an all county blitz on 23rd May 2026

What a fantastic morning for our Letterkenny Rovers U10 girls.

The squad took part in their first All-County Blitz of the season and delivered an excellent performance throughout.

With 23 players representing the club across two strong teams, they played seven games full of energy, teamwork, and quality football.

Across the pitches, there was clear progress in all areas:

  • Improved positioning

  • Sharper passing

  • Strong communication

  • Determined defending

  • Confident goalkeeping

  • Competitive midfield play

  • Clinical finishing in attack

The group continues to go from strength to strength each week, and with such great numbers involved, the future of girls’ football at the club is very positive.

Thank you to all participating teams for a great morning of football, and a special word of appreciation to Paul Friel for helping to organise the event.

Well done to all the players — the hard work is paying off and this is just the beginning.
