DWL U14 Semi-Final

Letterkenny Rovers 2–1 Cappry Rovers

Letterkenny Rovers booked their place in the DWL U14 Final following a hard-fought semi-final victory over Cappry Rovers.

Rovers made a dream start when Aoise Diver struck from distance, sending a superb effort into the top corner.

Both teams worked hard to make their possession count, and Rovers doubled their advantage shortly before half-time. Following a Laila Devenney shot, Ena Culi reacted quickly to finish the rebound.

Cappry pulled a goal back with ten minutes remaining to set up an exciting finish, but the Rovers girls showed great determination and resilience to see out the result and secure their place in the final.

Letterkenny Rovers will now contest the DWL U14 Final on 26 September in Ballyare.

U12 Girls

Our U12 Girls were narrowly beaten by Ballyraine after an incredible game that had absolutely everything.
Both teams can be extremely proud of their contribution to such an entertaining and exciting match. The girls gave everything from start to finish, with very little separating the sides throughout.
Well done to everyone involved — you should all be proud of your efforts. 👏⚽️
We now turn our attention to the Pennant Final against Kilmacrennan this Saturday in Ballyare, with a 10am kick-off.

U12 Rovers

Letterkenny Rovers U12 side were crowned U12 Premier Division Champions on Wednesday night 9th Sept following their 2-1 victory over Gweedore Celtic. Well done all involved. #uptherovers.

U12 Pennant Final Winners! 🏆

Our U12 girls rounded off a hugely productive season of development in the best possible way — by winning the Pennant Final! 💪⚽️

A fantastic 3–1 victory over a determined Kilmacrennan side in an exciting final that kept everyone engaged from start to finish. 🔥

⚽️ Goals from Ayda Diver and Player of the Match Nino Imnadze helped secure the win, with every player contributing to a brilliant team performance.

Congratulations to both teams on an entertaining final, and well done to Kilmacrennan for their commitment throughout the game.

A massive congratulations to our girls on an incredible season of development, hard work and togetherness. What a way to finish! 🏆💙

U14 Rovers

ROVERS 2–0 GLEN ROVERS

A strong team performance from the U14s saw Rovers claim another three points at home.

⚽ 11’ James Davidson headed home brilliantly from an Ethan Kearns cross.
⚽ 17’ Mostafa reacted quickest after James Davidson’s effort was saved to double the advantage.

Rovers created several chances during the first half and took a deserved two-goal lead into the break.

The second half was closely contested, with the Rovers defence remaining organised and resolute to protect the lead.

🧤 Another clean sheet for the team — their eighth of the season. A fantastic collective achievement. 👏

U8 Rovers

Letterkenny Rovers Under-8s stepped up an age group today to take part in the Under-9 Invitational Tournament at Cockhill Celtic, producing a superb display throughout the day to finish second overall from 20 teams.

The boys gave an excellent account of themselves across six matches, beginning the group stage with a 0–0 draw against Cockhill Celtic. They followed that with wins over Dunree, Don Boscos and Top of the Hill Celtic, progressing from the group as winners.

Goals during the group stage came from Oscar McNulty, Tiernan Gallagher, Heorhii, Cillian Martin and Finn Grieve, with the whole squad contributing to a very strong team performance.

In the semi-final, Rovers faced Foyle Harps in a closely contested match which finished 0–0. Letterkenny Rovers held their nerve in the penalty shoot-out, with Cillian Martin, Oscar McNulty and Finn Grieve all converting their penalties to secure a place in the final.

The final against Tri Star was another tight and entertaining contest. In their sixth game of the day, the boys continued to show great energy, teamwork and quality, creating several good passages of play and going close through Oscar McNulty, whose effort struck the post after a fine individual run.

Despite a determined finish, Rovers narrowly missed out in the final and finished as runners-up in a very competitive tournament.

A special mention to captain Finn Grieve, who was named Overall Player of the Tournament. A brilliant achievement for Finn and a proud moment for the whole squad. #uptherovers

U8 Girls

Under 8 girls were in action too at a blitz in Castlefin on Saturday morning.

U14 United

Letterkenny United U14s produced a determined team performance to progress in the League Cup following an exciting 4–4 draw against Swilly Rovers, before securing a 4–3 win in the penalty shoot-out.
With a number of changes to the side, United began positively in an open match with opportunities at both ends. The breakthrough arrived on 14 minutes when Brandon Ndlovu finished well after good work from Shay McLaughlin.
Swilly Rovers responded to take a 2–1 lead into the interval.
United came out strongly after the break and were level again when goalkeeper Hashim Chatha’s excellent long free kick released Brandon Ndlovu, who finished calmly for his second goal of the afternoon.
Rovers moved two goals ahead, but United showed excellent resilience and continued to push forward. Brandon completed his hat-trick on 63 minutes with a sharp finish after an assist from Jaber Saadeh to bring the score back to 4–3.
United kept pressing for an equaliser and, deep into added time, Temilope Adeyemi was played through by Shay McLaughlin before finding the net to make it 4–4 and send the tie to penalties.
In the shoot-out, Letterkenny United converted four penalties to Swilly Rovers’ three to seal progress in the competition.
