Rovers got off to a dream start when Laila Devenney struck superbly after just three minutes. Aoise Diver doubled the lead with a similar finish from the opposite side, then scored again on 23 minutes from a tight angle.
Letterbarrow Youths created chances, but the Rovers defenders made vital blocks and Kerry Wade produced two outstanding saves to preserve the clean sheet.
Rovers reshuffled throughout the match, with all 22 players contributing to a brilliant team effort. Well done, girls! #uptherovers

Strand Rovers 0–1 Letterkenny Wanderers
Wanderers made it two wins from two in the Trophy group stage with a hard-fought victory. After an evenly contested first half, Corey Lynch broke the deadlock midway through the second half.
Solid defending and an assured performance from substitute goalkeeper Charlie Burke helped Wanderers see out the game. A great team effort! 💪⚽
U12 Crusaders
U12 Premier Cup
Letterkenny Crusaders 0–1 Lagan Harps
Our 2015s bowed out of the U12 Premier Cup on Wednesday evening, with Lagan Harps progressing to the final.
Both teams made a tentative start. Lagan pressed well, and chances were few and far between. Cody McGarrigle’s shot from distance was among Crusaders’ best first-half efforts. Lagan took the lead in the final seconds of the half with a looping shot from distance.
Crusaders came close to equalising shortly after the restart when Aidan McCann’s shot was blocked on the line. Shay McLaughlin was then denied by a strong save from Lagan goalkeeper Jack Lynch. Brandon Ndlovu hit the post, while Cillian McCauley fired over as Crusaders kept pushing, but Lagan defended well to secure their place in the final.
The boys can be proud of their cup run and their efforts since stepping up to the Premier division this season. Aidan McCann, Jake Devin and Shay McLaughlin impressed on the night.
Next up is a trip to Ballyhaise in the SFAI Cup.

In near-perfect conditions, Zac Doherty, Brandon Ndlovu, Cody McGarrigle and Shay McLaughlin scored in the first half. A big thank-you to Ballyhaise Celtic for the fantastic hospitality shown to our players and supporters after the match. We wish them all the best for the season ahead. #uptherovers
U8 Girls County Blitz
And that’s a wrap! 🎉⚽
This morning marked the final U8 DWL Blitz of the year, played in perfect conditions down in Ballyare — a brilliant setting for the girls to finish their season on a high.
The club proudly fielded two teams, our Letterkenny Rovers and Letterkenny Crusaders, and both groups gave absolutely everything across six entertaining matches. There were smiles, determination, brave moments, and plenty of football played the right way.
Today really capped off a year of progress, confidence, and development. The girls have shown huge improvements in their passing, movement, communication, and their growing understanding of the game. It’s incredible to see how far they’ve come since the start of the season.
For us as coaches, it has been both a pleasure and a privilege to guide them on this journey — watching them grow not just as players, but as teammates and little leaders.
The future of girls’ football in the club is very bright, and this group is right at the heart of it.
Well done girls — onwards we go! 🖤🤍⚽
U12 Athletic
Letterkenny Athletic earned a cup victory over Glenea United in their second match of the campaign, producing an impressive attacking display and a strong team performance.
Jamie McConn and Anoula Dada scored twice each, with Ryan McLaughlin and David Ogunrinade also on the scoresheet. Matthew McDevitt and Ryan McLaughlin stood out with excellent contributions throughout the game.
Credit to Glenea United for competing hard until the final whistle, and thanks to them for a great game.
U14 Rovers
Rovers 3–0 Gweedore Celtic
Rovers returned to winning ways this evening with a hard-fought victory over Gweedore Celtic. 👏
Gweedore Celtic were well organised in the opening half, but Rovers broke the deadlock in the 30th minute when James Davidson turned home a cross from Zekrija Bytyqi.
Half-time: Rovers 1–0 Gweedore Celtic
Rovers made a strong start to the second half. Mostafa Mostafa converted a penalty after Jake Bonner was fouled in the box, then added his second from the spot in the 52nd minute following another foul on Jake.
A solid team performance and three well-earned points. Well done to the whole team! 💪⚽
🔜 Next up: Away to Mulroy.

U14 SFAI Cup
Kingscourt AFC 4–6 Letterkenny Rovers
What a way to open our SFAI Cup campaign in Cavan! Our new-look squad, including some of our 2014 players, showed great character in a hard-fought away win.
Kingscourt took a 2–0 lead before Filip Blaszczok got Rovers going, finishing from a Max Bowden corner. After Kingscourt made it 3–1, Filip struck again, and David Olaniyan scored late in normal time to send the match into extra time at 3–3.
Filip completed his hat-trick to put Rovers ahead, but Kingscourt quickly levelled. The boys kept pushing: Tiarnan Connolly restored the lead with four minutes left, and David added his second to seal the win.
Every player contributed to a performance full of determination and teamwork. The boys can be proud of how they responded throughout the match.
Player of the Match: Noah Harris. In his first game in goals for the side, Noah showed commitment and communicated well with his teammates.
Our next SFAI fixture is expected to be at home on 17 or 18 October, subject to the outcome of the other tie. We’ll confirm the date when it’s available.
Up the Rovers 💪🖤🤍
