A massive evening for the Crusaders as they secured their place in the Division 1 League Cup Final — a brilliant achievement and fully deserved after finishing second in a tough group.

The lads started with real intent. Jack Robb won and converted a well-taken penalty to open the scoring, while Folarin Abolaji added a composed finish before the break.

Crusaders continued to play with calmness and confidence in the second half, moving the ball well and creating opportunities. Anthony McGarrigle added another, before Jopello Adeyemi produced an outstanding four-goal display, with each finish taken powerfully and precisely.

Credit to Lurgy Celtic, who continued working hard throughout and showed great spirit until the final whistle.

A place in the final is a brilliant reward for the hard work, commitment and togetherness this group has shown over the past three years. The coaches are hugely proud of the progress the lads have made — both on and off the pitch.

Player of the Match: Jopello Adeyemi

Letterkenny Rovers 3–1 St Catherine’s

Letterkenny Rovers progressed to the next round of the SFAI Cup following a hard-fought win over St Catherine’s at Leckview Park on Sunday afternoon.

Rovers started the match positively, but the visitors took the lead from the penalty spot midway through the first half. The home side responded well, with Myrna Guzman winning possession from the St Catherine’s goalkeeper before finishing confidently from a tight angle.

Rovers moved ahead shortly before half-time when Aoibhinn McLaughlin finished well from inside the box.

The second half saw Rovers continue to create opportunities, and they added a third goal when Myrna Guzman reacted quickest in the box following an Aisling McGinley corner.

St Catherine’s continued to battle throughout, but the Rovers defence stood firm. Faye Casburn, Lily Gallagher, Ella Doherty and Mmasichukwu Stan-Mako all made important contributions, while Kerry Wade produced two excellent saves to protect Rovers’ lead.

Well done to all the players on a strong team performance, and thank you to St Catherine’s for a sporting and competitive cup tie.

Letterkenny Rovers 1–1 Keadue Rovers

Keadue Rovers won 4– 3 on penalties

This was always going to be a tough encounter for Letterkenny Rovers, with the girls playing together as a squad for the first time as they transitioned from the U12 and U13 groups.

Keadue dominated possession, but the Rovers girls delivered a spirited performance, closing down their opponents at every opportunity and working tirelessly for one another.

Rovers took the lead after 22 minutes when Ayda Diver fired her shot over the Keadue goalkeeper. Keadue equalised on the stroke of half-time, leaving the sides level at the break.

The second half saw Rovers continue to show their determination, battling for every ball. Neither side could find a winner, and extra time also failed to separate the teams.

The tie went to the dreaded penalty shoot-out, where Keadue emerged as eventual winners, taking it 4–3.

A brave performance from this newly formed Rovers squad, with plenty of positives to build on. Well done to all the girls, and congratulations to Keadue Rovers as they progress to the next round.

Up and Running!

A big day for our newly formed Under 7 Crusaders, who played their first games together as a squad. For many of the players, it was also their first time representing the club.

We were delighted to host Kilmacrennan Celtic Academy. Every player involved showed great skill, enthusiasm and effort throughout a memorable morning of football.

Thank you to all the parents and spectators for supporting the children in such a positive spirit.

A big thank you to Jamie, his players and coaches for making the trip and helping to make it a special occasion for the Crusaders.
