Ballyraine Harps 2-1 Letterkenny Athletic
Letterkenny Athletic travelled to Orchard Park and put in a strong, battling performance, eventually falling just short in a 2-1 contest.
Letterkenny started brightly and created the first big chance when Ryan McLaughlin found himself clean through on goal, only to be denied by a good save from the Ballyraine goalkeeper.
Ballyraine grew into the game and took the lead shortly before half-time with a well-delivered corner finished by a powerful header.
In the second half, Ballyraine added a second goal following a sharp counter-attack. Letterkenny responded well, showing great determination and attacking intent. Their efforts were rewarded when Ryan McLaughlin pulled a goal back, setting up an exciting finish.
Matthew McDevitt had a late opportunity to level the match, but it wasn’t to be. Despite the result, Letterkenny can take plenty of positives from a performance that created numerous chances.

U12 Girls
Ballyraine U12 Girls 1–0 Letterkenny Rovers U12 Girls
Our U12 girls made the short trip across town to take on Ballyraine in an entertaining and hard-fought contest.
Letterkenny started brightly and created several good chances in the opening stages but were unable to find a way past the in-form Aobhinn Giles in the Ballyraine goal. At the other end, Letterkenny were equally grateful for an impressive performance from Aoibhe McLaughlin, who produced a number of important saves.
Just before half-time, Clara Carey scored a goal worthy of winning any match, giving Ballyraine a 1–0 lead at the break.
The second half was played at a terrific pace, with both teams creating opportunities in an end-to-end encounter. Letterkenny pushed hard in search of an equaliser, but it was not to be. Both sides showed great commitment to playing positive football, with excellent effort, determination and quality on display throughout.
Great credit is due to both teams for their performances and continued development.
U14 Premier
Bonagee 3–2 Rovers
Rovers were narrowly beaten 3–2 away to Bonagee on Thursday night, in their first defeat of the season.
The home side made a strong start and went two goals ahead inside the opening 15 minutes. Rovers regrouped well after the break and delivered a much-improved second-half performance, drawing level within 15 minutes of the restart.
James Davidson pulled one back with an excellent header from a precise Ruairi Gardiner cross, before Gardiner added the equaliser with a well-struck effort from the edge of the box.
With both teams pushing for a winner, the game remained finely balanced. Bonagee secured the decisive goal in injury time to take the points.
While the result did not go Rovers’ way, there were plenty of positives from the second-half display.
U16 Girls
Letterkenny Rovers 3–4 Illistrin
Letterkenny Rovers and Illistrin played out an entertaining seven-goal contest in Leckview Park.
Illistrin took the lead midway through the first half through Eabha McKinney, who added her second five minutes later with an excellent strike from distance. Rovers responded quickly when Amy Moore scored a superb long-range effort. The hosts then drew level on the half-hour mark as Aoise Diver won possession high up the pitch and finished confidently from inside the box. McKinney went on to add two more goals before the break to give Illistrin a 4–2 lead at half-time.
Rovers pushed hard in the second half to get back into the game, with Aoibhinn McLaughlin and Myrna Guzman creating opportunities from wide areas. Aisling McGinley brought Rovers closer with a well-taken finish, but Illistrin held on to secure the win.
Eabha McKinney and Aoibhe McFadden performed strongly for Illistrin, while Amy Moore and Aoibhinn McLaughlin impressed for Letterkenny Rovers.
U16 Rovers
Letterkenny Rovers welcomed Gweedore Celtic to Leckview Park in the U16 Premier Division and made a strong start to the game. Within the opening five minutes, Matthew Jr. Odekun applied excellent pressure to win possession before calmly finishing into the corner of the net.
Rovers doubled their lead shortly after when Ronan Ward delivered a well-weighted through ball to Helden Carvalho (Aratson), who finished confidently to make it 2–0. The remainder of the first half was competitive, with both sides working hard and Rovers defending well to maintain their advantage.
In the second half, Rovers extended their lead when Thalji Al Daher played a precise pass through to Helden Carvalho, who scored his second of the game with a powerful finish. The combination play continued as Helden later provided a cross for Thalji Al Daher, who headed home to make it 4–0.
Gweedore Celtic pulled a goal back, but Rovers remained composed to see out the game and secure their first win of the league campaign.
Letterkenny Crusaders travelled to Ballyraine for their U16 First Division fixture and made a fast start to the game. Within 10 minutes, Jack McLaughlin opened the scoring for the visitors, finishing calmly into the bottom right corner after a long throw into the box from Noah Abu.
In the second half, Crusaders enjoyed more possession and created further chances, extending their lead when Jack McLaughlin played a through ball to Dom Uroda, who finished powerfully for his first of the game. Dom Uroda added his second 10 minutes later with a long-range strike into the bottom left corner. Crusaders made it four when Amani Twalib capitalised on a rebound, and the scoring was completed when Dom Uroda set up Thomas Toner, who finished well to make it 5–0.
A strong team performance all round, with notable contributions from Jack McLaughlin and Noah Abu. Player of the Match goes to Dom Uroda for his work rate and overall performance, as Crusaders secure their first win of the league campaign
