Dessie Kelly Memorial Cup - Champions 🏆

Letterkenny Rovers claimed the Dessie Kelly Memorial Cup this evening with a commanding 3–0 win over Fanad United.🏆

Rovers started strongly, with Ella McCarron delivering a dangerous early cross that was well defended by Fanad. The early pressure told in the 13th minute when Ciara McGarvey showed great composure to slot home the opener with her left foot.

Fanad worked hard to find a response, but Rovers’ defence—led by Molly Page and Mia Devenney—stood firm. At the other end, goalkeeper Aoiblinn Randles reacted smartly to deny a Fanad attack and keep her clean sheet intact.

The lead was extended shortly before half-time when Erin Doherty’s diagonal pass found McCarron, whose precise delivery was finished superbly by Roisin Lynch to make it 2–0.

Rovers sealed victory in the 58th minute as Lynch struck again, converting another pinpoint McCarron cross to complete her brace and secure the silverware.

It was a complete team performance from start to finish, with every player contributing brilliantly to the win. Roisin Lynch was named Player of the Match for her two-goal display.

The club was also delighted to see Amy Moore return to action after recovering from an Achilles injury, and everyone at Letterkenny Rovers wishes Hannah Shields a speedy recovery.

Well done to the team and coaches on a fantastic result🏆 ⚪️⚫️

DWL Senior Women’s League

Raphoe Town 1 - 7 Letterkenny Rovers

Raphoe Town got off to the perfect start when Sarah Doherty found the net just four minutes in, giving the home side an early lead. However, Letterkenny Rovers quickly regrouped and equalised through Mollie Page.

A well-delivered corner from Nadine Crawford soon followed, with Erin Doherty rising highest to head home and put Rovers in front. First-half goals from Roisin Lynch and Rebecca McGinley extended the visitors’ lead before the break.

In the second half, Roisin Lynch continued her impressive form, completing a hat-trick with two more well-taken goals. Sarah Robinson also got on the scoresheet as Rovers demonstrated excellent team play, particularly with Sarah’s goal, which featured a flowing move involving at least seven players.

To their credit, Raphoe continued to press forward, with Venessa McHugh remaining a constant threat and Lauren O'Donnell putting in a tireless performance. Despite the scoreline, Raphoe showed great determination throughout.

Letterkenny Rovers v Keadue United

DWL Senior League
Letterkenny Rovers 2–0 Keadue Rovers (Match abandoned on 71 minutes)

Letterkenny Rovers claimed a 2–0 lead over Keadue Rovers before their DWL Senior League clash was unfortunately abandoned in the 71st minute due to an injury.

The home side started strongly, with Rebecca McGinley opening the scoring on 15 minutes after a well-placed cross from Mollie Page. Rovers continued to apply pressure, and just before the break, Kirsten Stewart doubled the lead. She latched onto a long ball over the top from Amy Boyd and calmly slotted it home.

Keadue Rovers showed intent in the second half, with Aislinn Coll unleashing a powerful strike that looked destined for the net, only to be denied by a top-class save from Aoibhlinn Randles. Both teams continued to battle for possession, with half-chances falling to Caroline Sharkey for Keadue and McGinley again for Letterkenny.

The game was halted in the 71st minute due to an injury, with the match subsequently abandoned. A decision on the outcome of the fixture is expected in due course.

Letterkenny Rovers 4 – 3 Raphoe Town

Letterkenny Rovers Ladies Advance in FAI Amateur Shield After Thrilling Win Over Raphoe Town

Letterkenny Rovers Ladies secured their place in the next round of the FAI Amateur Shield with a dramatic 4-3 victory over Raphoe Town in an epic encounter this evening.

Rovers made a dream start, opening the scoring within the first minute when Molly Page sliced through the Raphoe defence and finished clinically from close range. However, their lead was short-lived, as Raphoe were awarded a penalty moments later which Vanessa McHugh calmly converted.

The back-and-forth continued as Sarah Robinson restored Rovers’ advantage on 13 minutes, battling hard at the back post to fire home from a tight angle. But McHugh struck again—twice—to swing the momentum back in Raphoe’s favour, putting them 3-2 ahead.

Early in the second half, Aoibhlinn Randles launched a long ball forward that took a deflection off a Raphoe defender. Roisin Lynch reacted quickest, pouncing on the loose ball to loft a clever chip over the goalkeeper to level the tie.

Molly Page and Gemma McFadden brought relentless energy in the second half, pinning Raphoe back with constant pressure. In midfield, Erin Doherty and Katelyn Doherty were instrumental in cutting out long balls aimed at the Raphoe forwards.

With 20 minutes to play, Aoife Kelly fired Rovers back in front with a powerful strike to make it 4-3. Despite sustained pressure and the ever-dangerous McHugh threatening for Raphoe, the Rovers defence—anchored by Mia Devenney, Erin Duffy, and Emily Irwin—held firm.

It was a hard-fought and entertaining contest⚽️

Letterkenny Rovers 2 - 0 Bonagee United

Women's FAI Amateur Shield

Letterkenny Rovers 2 - 0 Bonagee United

Letterkenny Rovers booked their place in the next round of the Women’s FAI Amateur Shield with a composed 2-0 victory over local rivals Bonagee United.

Goals from Erin Doherty and Emily Irwin sealed a deserved win for the home side, who showed their quality in both attack and defence across the 90 minutes.

Doherty opened the scoring in the first half with a smart finish after a slick passing move, giving Rovers an early edge in what had been a tightly contested opening spell. Bonagee tried to respond, pushing forward with some dangerous spells of possession, but found the Rovers back line difficult to break down.

Just before halftime, Letterkenny Rovers struck again. Emily Irwin’s diagonal ball picked out the run of Roisin Lynch across the face of goal, but the delivery deceived everyone, including the Bonagee keeper and drifted straight into the top corner to double the lead in spectacular fashion.

Bonagee battled gamely throughout, but Letterkenny Rovers organisation and clinical edge were the difference on the day. It was a strong team performance from Letterkenny, who now advance with momentum on their side.
